HUNT STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

MORE EFFECTIVE CORPORATE COMMUNICATION

During my time at Hunt Engineers, Architects & Surveyors, the leadership team worked with an outside consultant to develop a new Strategic Plan. The plan was based on feedback from employees and clients as well as their corporate goals. I was heavily involved in pursuing these corporate initiatives. These initiatives included acting as the Project Manager responsible for creating and implementing the new corporate internal Intranet, establishing and executing a new CRM software, developing corporate marketing plans and promoting the company’s mission and vision. Each of these projects were aimed at increasing internal corporate communications and external client relationships.

The Hive Intranet

A finding in the Strategic Plan was the need to increase internal communications, especially from leadership. A part of my tasks at the time was to manage and update the Intranet. The previous system was a static HTML site that was not engaging and difficult to navigate. I found the need to redesign the internal Intranet to allow leadership and employees to communicate and find important information more easily. I began the process by suggesting several vendor solutions to HUNT's CEO, which was then approved by the Professional Council. After establishing a committee with my peers, we started to strategize what goals we wanted out of the Intranet and how we would accomplish them. I held breakout department meetings to understand how the rest of our coworkers would like to utilize the site. We also created branding for the site to increase engagement, calling it the Hive.

 

I took the role as Project Manager of the initiative, acting as the main point of contact with our vendor, lead of our committee, and builder of the site itself. The Intranet is now the main source for standard documents, human resources information, company news, and employee profiles.

Vision, Mission & Values

During the Strategic Planning process HUNT's leadership team decided to update their company Vision, Mission and Values. I assisted with this process by designing logos for each to graphically represent them to staff. I then developed a presentation that was used to present these concepts to the company, which included recorded videos of members of the leadership team explaining each. These were later featured on the new Intranet for future employees references. I also created materials with these logos that could be distributed to staff and office signage for each of the three offices.
